Recipe: Turmeric Latte… Yum!

You know what’s good? THIS is good, if I do say so myself. Turmeric Latte.

It ain’t full-on fall until you’re drinking orange or yellow spicy hot drinks. This golden yellow hot drink will leave (pun) you feeling all the fall feels. And turmeric has health benefits that make it a smart choice for your morning bevvy:

  • It’s a natural inflammatory
  • It lowers your risk of heart disease
  • It improves brain function
  • It can help prevent and cure cancer
  • It can help treat endometriosis
  • It can aid in fighting depression
  • It helps calm digestive issues
  • It may help the liver work more efficiently
  • It improves skin health
  • And the biggie: it may help lessen hot flashes!

Okay, here’s the recipe for Turmeric Latte (serves 1):

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (see my post about the benefits of coconut oil here and a recipe involving coconut oil here)
  • 1 tablespoon local honey
  • 2 teaspoons ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger (or 1 teaspoon ground)
  • 1 scoop collagen powder
  • Dash of ground black pepper

Warm milk, oil and honey on stove. Transfer to blender and add remaining ingredients. Blend on high until lightly frothy (15-ish seconds). Find your favorite mug, a cozy chair, and a book… enjoy! Yum!

Give it a try and know you’re blessing your body with this cup of golden goodness.
